Debbie Line-Yencer, Lead Pastor
Came to Flushing UMC in July of 2014. Previously she served Davison UMC for five years and Seymour Lake UMC for 10 years. Debbie and her family were members at Trinity UMC in Lapeer for 20 years. She attended Asbury College and graduated with a B.A. in psychology and graduated with a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. Debbie married Ron Yencer on June 1, 2013. Debbie has two children David and Heather and four grandchildren, Isaac, Mackenzie, Kerith, and Luke – the delights of her life. She is now blessed with two stepdaughters and their families. Her passion is bringing a deeper understanding of the love of the Lord to people’s lives and moving in the life changing ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Jeanne Wisenbaugh, Pastor of Congregational Care
Jeanne was ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) after graduating from Lexington Theological Seminary in 1996. Jeanne is mom to Patricia, Arlie, William and Bonnie, whose ages range from 8 to 15. Jeanne and her family began attending Flushing United Methodist Church early in 2009. In August of the same year, she came on staff at FUMC. Prior to her call to ministry, Jeanne was an elementary teacher earning her degree from the University of Michigan. When not busy with church work and driving taxi for her kids, she enjoys reading and creative arts. She is a wannabe gardener with vegan dreams.
Rose Dessinger, Office Manager
Rose has a background of bookkeeping and computers and as an office manager for 15 years. She has been a member of Flushing United Methodist church since 2009 and currently serves as a Stephen Ministry Leader, choir member and UMW member. She was born in Rochester, New York and moved to Flushing in 2000 to be married to her husband, Bill. Together, they have owned a property preservation company in the mortage industry for 15 years.
Christie Dover, Music Coordinator/Organist
Christie Dover has a BA in Music Therapy and a Masters of Social Work from Michigan State University. She has played the organ for Asbury United Methodist Church in Lansing, Oak Park United Methodist Church, Flushing Presbyterian Church, and was hired to be on staff at FUMC in the late 1980s. In addition to her responsibilities at FUMC, she also is the accompanist for Carman-Ainsworth High School choirs, has played for many Swartz Creek Center Stage productions, and teaches private piano lessons.
Matt Packer, Director of Sanctuary and Bell Choirs
Rev. Dr. Matthew J. Packer is a United Methodist Deacon who has been serving in music ministry since 1983. He has served at Flushing UMC since May of 2006 and directs the Centrum Choir and Chapel Handbells and coordinates the Forgotten Man Ministry program with our church and the Genesee County Jail. Matt is also the choral director at Mott Community College, the Flint Male Chorus and Swartz Creek Center Stage and is a vocalist and pianist with the music duo, Brother 2 Brother. He is happily married to Kristi and the proud father of Nate, Janelle, Ellie, Abbie, and Matthew.
